Two years after Pazhassi Raja created box-office history in Mollywood, the writer-director duo – MT Vasudevan Nair and Hariharan – are busy working for their ‘most ambitious’ project Randamoozham
M.T.’s celebrated novel is going to be made into a film by Hariharan. M.T.has almost completed  the script, even as Hariharan is doing his own homework for what is perhaps the most ambitious project of the writer-director duo in their association of over 30 years.
Now what really is making news is that the role of Bheema is to be done by Mohanlal while Mamooty portrays Dhuryodhana. Similar to their last two ventures, ‘Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha’ and ‘Pazhassi Raja,’ the actors will take up swords and shields in this epic too as ‘Randamoozham’ tells the story of Mahabharatha from Bheema’s perspective.
The ace director stresses that after working in a huge project such as ‘Pazhassi Raja,’ which cost Rs 27 crore to make, he would further want to use new technology for ‘Randamoozham.’Budget has never restricted Hariharan as his last outing was the highest-grossing Malayalam cinema bagging close to Rs 49 crore.
Whenever Hariharan and M.T. have put their heads together, there has been magic on the screen, right from ‘Idavazhiyile Poocha Minda Poocha’ (1979), their first film together. Remarkably, they never repeated themselves in any of their projects. Most of the M.T.-Hariharan works would find a place among the finest films in Indian cinema’s history.
